Abstract:

The goal of this project is to build a state-of-the-science regional center of research excellence in Colombia known as the Stanford-Colombia Collaboratory on Chronic Disease and to focus on prevention of the major non-communicable diseases (NCDs) facing Colombia and the Latin American region.

Abstract:

The goal of this project is to study the drivers of urban health in settings with large heterogeneities and rapid transformations in order to inform policies to promote urban health and sustainability worldwide.

Social Analytics: Intervening communities using social network  analysis for the sustainable development of Colombia, Date: January 2018- January 2021. Funded by: The Research Office of Universidad de los Andes – Assistant Professors Fund (FAPA). Role: Principal Investigator.

Abstract:

The objective is to develop and apply a social networks analysis methodology for the design, implementation and evaluation of public health interventions with spill-over effects in Colombian populations. 

Global Health Equality Scholars Program. isBARU: The importance of social behaviors in the health of adolescents in rural areas of Colombia, Date: January 2018- June 2019. Funded by: The National Institute of Health (USA) - Fogarty. Role: Principal Investigator.

Abstract:

The general objective of the project is to develop an integrative methodological approach using quantitative socio-metric Data to examine rural adolescent's social networks and health dynamics.

Efectividad del Programa Muévete Escolar para la promoción de actividad física en la población escolar de Bogotá, Date: May 2018- May 2019. Funded by: Financiación de proyectos - Universidad de los Andes Research Office. Role: Principal Investigator.

Abstract:

Los objetivos del proyecto son evaluar la efectividad del componente Módulo Activo Recreo Activo del programa Muévete Escolar en la promoción de actividad física en la población escolar de Bogotá y determinar el efecto de las redes de amistad en la transmisión de hábitos que previenen o causan el sobrepeso y la obesidad.
